PPS Mission

Parents for Public Schools is a national organization of community-based chapters working to strengthen public schools through broad-based enrollment.  Invigorated by a diverse membership, our proactive involvement helps public schools attract all families in a community by making sure all schools effectively serve all children.  We believe that quality public education is vital to our democracy and to America's future.

While PPS chapters undertake a variety of activities in their communities, all PPS chapter leaders and members are united by shared values.  We are inspired by those values and work together to realize them in our PPS activities.  By mobilizing parents who reflect the full diversity of our towns and cities, PPS works to build both strong public schools and healthier, move vital communities.

PPS values public education as an important part of American life, as an essential element of a democracy, and for the richness in diversity it offers our children.
